I could actually go into labor on Labor Day. How ironic would that be? My due date is September 20th, and Labor Day is September 5th this year, which is just a couple weeks before. I wouldn’t mind that happening at this point. I’m fairly tired of being huge, out of breath and exhausted all the time. However, this being my third baby, I do know very well that I’m a lot less exhausted right now than I will be when he finally arrives! Still… it’s hard to want your pregnancy to continue much longer when you just want to get back to feeling semi-normal again. And for that to EVER happen, he’s going to need to pop out at some point!
So, September being the month of Labor Day, and my literal labor month (unless I go over a couple weeks into October — aaaaaaaaaaaccccccckkkkk!!!!), we decided to have a newborn sale of sorts. No, I’m not selling my newborn… or anyone else’s for that matter. But if you have a newborn, too, or know someone who does, we’re going to help you out!
We’re discounting our newborn organic cotton swaddle blankets by 50%!
That’s right, we cut our prices in half! Baby stuff adds up. I know this firsthand. Even with this being baby #3 for me, I’m still spending a small fortune getting ready for him. It doesn’t help that my other two are a bit older (7 & 11), and I’ve given away or sold a lot of their old baby stuff. I wasn’t sure if or when I would have another little one, and after years and years of storing everything baby and toddler in the garage (and I mean everything! I had about 20 bins of clothes, at least… just to start!), I had a huge yard sale and sold almost all of it… exactly one year ago. I should have known that would be a sign that I would be pregnant again very soon. Oh, the irony of it all!
But it’s OK, because this baby deserves onesies that aren’t 11 years old. And a stroller that actually still works. And a grime-free highchair that hasn’t been sitting in the garage for half a decade. So I’ve made my peace with having to start over. But that doesn’t make it cheap.
We also know that what’s really good for us and our kids can be pricey, like organic cotton. But you shouldn’t have to pay an arm and a leg to protect your little baby. You have a precious brand new life to take care of in the best way you know how, and wrapping that little bundle in organic cotton goodness is an awesome way to start!
Now, depending on where you live, the weather is probably a bit different from down here in FL right now. We’re still scorching hot in these parts, so I’ll be using our Lightweight Organic Cotton Swaddles for the first month or so. They’re just a bit thinner and more breathable, for these still-summer Florida days and nights. We have two colors of our lightweight swaddles available — bright blue and red. Both perfect for a boy or a girl!
Your weather might already be getting a bit nippy, especially at night. If so, I would suggest you go right to our regular weight Organic Cotton Swaddle Blankets, which come in another 5 fun colors (the four solids in the picture below — marine blue, lime green, purple and coral pink — plus the navy stripe pictured above). I’ll be moving onto these in probably late October or November.
Our Labor Day swaddle sale starts today and lasts through September, so pop on over to the shop and pick out your favorite color!
And if you’re having a baby soon, too, or if you just had one… from mommy to mommy, congratulations and enjoy your little bundle of pure joy! <3
