I recently went on a super fun and awesome trip to Phoenix, AZ with one of my very best buds! I was stoked to go on this most-expenses-paid trip with him, but I had nothing to wear. So I decided to make some of my own clothes… for the very first time!!
To me, this looked like the simplest skirt to make, so I started with it! I found this tutorial online, and I set to work.
Now, I didn’t really think about writing about the process of making this skirt… ahem… so I don’t have any pictures of the process… But I basically followed the tutorial above, and it was really very easy. And here’s what I was able to do:
I made it a bit shorter than the tutorial said. And it was about as short as I could go without showing more than I should on the sides, lol!
Of course, after I made my skirt, I realized I needed a white tank top to go with it. I always have a hard time finding white shirts that you can’t see through (I really hate that!). So I found this tutorial that actually doubles the fabric, which is perfect because we recently got in some white organic knit fabric that is way too thin for us to use for Kiddo Organics. I had wondered what on earth we were going to use it for… and then I found this!
And again… I didn’t take pictures of my progress (sorry!). But it’s the same white tank in the picture above. It turned out really well! It’s a little too tight… but that’s the good thing about working with knits – they stretch.
So that’s it for today! I promise my next blogs will have more pictures of the actual process. 🙂 Up next… I transformed an old 2-piece tank top set into a cute little summer halter top!
