Me?? On the radio??? Well, as nervous as I was, I did an interview for our local radio station, WAMI. You can listen to it here. Scroll down to “OrganiLuxe” and click to hear me!
Mother’s Day!! Thank you so much to I Am Friday for interviewing us, and writing a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend post about our business. It is such and honor to be a part of your wonderful site, and it was a lot of fun answering your questions, too! Here’s a snippet from the interview, head over to iamfriday.me to read the rest:
Island Girl: What has your business taught you?
Leah: It is really hard to start a business. Really, really hard. We have learned that we are persistent. If you want to do something, it is worth working very, very hard to do it.
Island Girl: What advice can you give our reader?
Leah: Persistence is key. It takes a lot of it. There are so many rough spots along the way that you are tempted to throw in the towel, but you have to persevere through those times and you will come out ahead. I said when we started this over four years ago, that it was good there were two of us, so that is and when one of us has said, “This is getting too hard,” the other would say, “Come on, we can do it.” And we have.
Success doesn’t look the same to everyone. You have to find your own way to run your business. A “business plan” for you might look very different from someone else’s.
Ignore the naysayers. It’s hard to run your own business, and people will think (and possibly say) you can’t do it. Or they’ll call it your “hobby.” Prove them wrong.
Happy Birthday to me! On April 20th – my birthday!! – our sandwich and snack bags were featured in aka design’s “Friday Five.” 😀
