The Story Behind Island Picnic
Island Picnic started with something that’s been a part of my life for years: figuring out how to make good food that everyone in my family can enjoy.
When my daughter Jillian was little, her severe allergies to milk, eggs, peanuts, and tree nuts meant I had to rethink a lot of the foods other families took for granted. Over time, adapting recipes became second nature. I learned that with the right ingredients and a little creativity, you don’t have to miss out on the foods you love just because food allergies are part of your life.

More Than Just Recipes
What started as a way to make familiar foods work for our family grew into a love of finding, creating, and sharing recipes that other families could enjoy, too. Island Picnic became a place to share those discoveries, along with the little tricks and substitutions that make allergy-friendly cooking feel less overwhelming.
My goal has always been simple: food should bring people together, not leave someone out.
